John Keats, being a poet of nature admires all objects of nature. In the poem, he mentions several things of beauty, such as the sun, the moon, daffodil flowers, small streams of transparent water, musk-roses etc.

जॉन कीट्स प्रकृति के कवि होने के कारण प्रकृति की सभी वस्तुओं की प्रशंसा करते हैं। कविता में वह कई सुन्दर वस्तुओं का वर्णन करते हैं, जैसे- सूर्य, चन्द्रमा, नरगिस के फूल, छोटी-छोटी स्वच्छ (निर्मल) जलधाराएँ, कस्तूरी गुलाब आदि।

Answer:

There are many things described in the poem which cause suffering and pain to human beings. These things are-disappointment, lack of human qualities, lack of nobility, unhealthy and evil ways adopted by human beings etc.

कविता में बहुत सी ऐसी चीजें वर्णित हैं जो मनुष्यों के कष्टों व दु:खों का कारण हैं। ये वस्तुएँ हैं- निराशा, मानवीय गुणों का अभाव, उदारता का अभाव व मनुष्यों द्वारा ग्रहण किये गये अस्वस्थ व बुरे रास्ते आदि।

The ‘mighty dead’ had been powerful people in their lives because of their grand deeds and achievements. People believe that on the day of judgement they will be rewarded for their noble deeds. So ‘grandeur’ is associated with them.

वे ‘शक्तिशाली मृत’ लोग अपने शानदार कार्यों व उपलब्धियों के लिये अपनी जिन्दगियों में शक्तिशाली और प्रभावशाली रहे थे। लोगों का विश्वास है कि निर्णय के दिन (कयामत के दिन) उन्हें उनके श्रेष्ठ कार्यों के लिये पुरस्कृत किया जायेगा । इसलिये, उनके साथ ‘वैभव’ शब्द जुड़ा हुआ है।

There are so many things which cause troubles and sufferings to human beings. But on the other hand, ‘some shapes of beauty’ remove that pall of sadness and sufferings that covers our spirits. These things make human beings love life.

कितनी ही ऐसी चीजें हैं जो मनुष्य को कष्ट और पीड़ा देती हैं । लेकिन दूसरी ओर सुन्दरता की कुछ आकृतियाँ नीरसता के उस आवरण को हटा देती हैं जो हमारी आत्माओं को ढके रहता है । इन चीज़ों के कारण मनुष्य जीवन से प्रेम करते हैं ।

एक सुंदर वस्तु सदैव आनंददायक होती है, क्योंकि इसकी सुंदरता उतनी ही बढ़ती जाती है जितना हम इसे देखते हैं। अतः यह हमें अनंत संतुष्टि व प्रसन्नता प्रदान करती है।

सुंदरता हमारे मस्तिष्क में एक अमिट छाप छोड़ती है। यह (सुंदरता) शुद्ध है व हमारे जीवन को आनंद और आशा से परिपूर्ण करती है और इसे को जीने योग्य बनाती है।

‘Lovely tales’ are called an endless fountain because they too contain the beauty and goodness of human experience, wisdom, inspiration and entertainment which is eternal.

मधुर कहानियों को अनंत फव्वारा कहा गया है क्योंकि उनमें भी मानव अनुभव, समझदारी, प्रेरणा व मनोरंजन की सुंदरता तथा अच्छाई निहित है जो कि अनंत है।

The poet says we ‘wreathe a flowery band to bind us to the earth’. How do you interpret this statement ?

कवि कहता है कि हम फूलों की डोरी को गूंथते हैं जो हमें धरती से जोड़ती है। आप इस कथन को किस प्रकार समझते हैं ?

Answer:

Our earth is an inexhausible treasure of beautiful things which give us infinite joy and also sustain our existence. We are born of the earth and cannot imagine life without it. Our dependence on the earth and its bounties binds us inseparably to it.

That is why we wish to be in close contact with the earth by wreathing a band of flowers-each of which represents a blessing that we receive from it. In this way we seek to imbibe the noble qualities of earth.

हमारी धरती उन सुंदर वस्तुओं का एक असीमित खजाना है जो हमें असीम आनंद देती हैं व हमारे जीवन को भी पोषित करती हैं। हम धरती से ही जन्मे हैं और उसके बिना जीवन की कल्पना नहीं कर सकते। धरती व उसके उत्पादों पर हमारी निर्भरता हमें उससे अभाज्य रूप से जोड़े रखती है।

इसी कारण हम धरती से अंतरग रूप से सम्पर्क बनाए रखना चाहते हैं। इसके लिए हम फूलों की डोरी गूंथते हैं। इसका प्रत्येक फूल एक वरदान का प्रतीक है जो हमें धरती से प्राप्त होता है। इस प्रकार हम धरती के श्रेष्ठ गुणों को आत्मसात करने का प्रयास करते हैं।

How does the poet associate beauty with the grand monuments built to the mighty dead?

महान मृत लोगों की स्मृति में बने स्मारकों को कवि सुन्दरता से कैसे जोड़ता है ?

Answer:

The world has seen many great men and women who changed and made history by dint of hard work, dedication, bravery, endurance and countless sacrifices. These people overcaine all odds to achieve the impossible, and also showed the way to others.

They embodied all noble human qualities and urged others to do the same. Since the monuments built in their memory remind us of their great deeds and noble qualities, which are another form of beauty, so the poet associates the beauty of their lives with beauty itself.

संसार ने ऐसे अनेक महान पुरुष और महिलाएँ देखे हैं जिन्होंने अपने परिश्रम, समर्पण, साहस, धैर्य व अनगिनत त्याग के बल पर इतिहास बदला व बनाया था। इन लोगों ने सभी कठिनाइयों का सामना कर असम्भव को संम्भव बनाया तथा यही रास्ता दूसरों को भी दिखाया। उन्होंने सभी श्रेष्ठ मानव-गुण आत्मसात किंए व दूसरों को ऐसा करने हेतु प्रोत्साहित किया। चूँकि उनकी स्मृति में बनाए गए स्मारक हमें उनके उन महान कार्यों व श्रेष्ठ गुणों की याद दिलाते हैं जो सुंदरता का ही एक अन्य रूप हैं इसलिये कवि उनके जीवन की सुंदरता को सुंदरता से जोड़ता है।
